Walked up the tarmac road from 54 41.564 N, 7 14.022 W on the B48 where there is a sign detailing the route as part of Cairn Sunday. The sign shows two other routes which may be more challenging. As reported by JC unfortunately the trig has been vandalised as part of a FSNI attempt to show visitors the surrounding area. Not much use to me today as its now very faded and the cloud and rain were depressingly vicious for the end of August.

There is an excellent road the whole way to this TP as there are two Transmitters beside it. We started from Gortin Glen Forest Park and followed the road along the north bank of Pollan Burn. The top half has been replaced and mounted with a direction plate naming visible landmarks. OS Records show that the pillar was established 1st October 1954 on the site of the pillar used in the triangulation of GB & I completed circa 1853. The point is observed as a secondary trig point and is linked by observations to Sawel, Broughre, Bessy Hill and Slieve Gallion.
