Evening yomp up from Bloody Bridge, great weather and fantastic views. There are two plaques on the shelter in memory of Carl Stephenson, who was killed by lightning on this spot a couple of months prior to this visit. Approximate date; did not note any details of the pillar |

Walked up from Newcastle via Glen River. Unfortunately the summit was just in the cloud. The trig point itself stands on top of a building forming the Mourne Wall and access is difficult unless you have some help from a fellow walker. The picture shows my son by the trig point. The return walk was made via Slieve Commedagh, Slievenaglogh, Hares Gap and the Tollymore Forest Park. Pillar |

Trig seen but no details noted. Mist and rain. Bagged at start of UK 4 Peaks trip - then ferry to Stranraer, Bagged Ben Nevis, then Scafell Pike, finishing on Snowdon under 24h after starting up Donard. Had to be done :-) |
